Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 August 2026

Job Buddiez is free for tradies and makes its money from a processing fee added to your customer's bill when they pay by card, ACH or financing. That shapes this policy: we handle job and payment information, and we do not sell any of it.

1. What we collect

Account details — your email, display name, company name, trade or role, and an avatar if you upload one.

Job data you enter — quotes, invoices, schedules, notes, site photos, crew messages, and the customer details you add so you can invoice them.

Payment-related data — the amount, currency, status, chosen payment method, the fee applied, and a reference from the payment provider. We do not receive or store full card numbers, CVCs or bank login credentials; those go directly to the payment provider.

Technical data — log records such as IP address, device and browser type, and pages used, kept to keep the service running and secure.

2. Why we use it

To run your account and the features you use; to send quotes and invoices on your instruction; to calculate and display the processing or financing fee to your customer; to detect fraud and abuse; to provide support; to meet legal, tax and anti-money-laundering obligations; and to improve the product using aggregated, non-identifying usage patterns.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

3. Payments, fees and financing

Card, ACH and financing transactions are processed by regulated third-party providers. When your customer chooses one of those methods, the information they enter — card or bank details, and for financing the information the lender needs to assess an application — is collected and handled by that provider or lender under their own privacy policy. We receive back only the outcome and the transaction metadata described above.

Where financing is offered, the lender is an independent controller of the application data your customer submits. We do not receive credit files, scores or decision reasoning beyond whether the payment succeeded.

4. Your customers' information

When you add a customer's name, address, phone number or email so you can quote or invoice them, you decide what to collect and why — you are the controller of that data and we process it on your behalf under our terms. Please only add what you need, and tell your customers how you use it.

If a customer contacts us directly about their data, we will usually forward the request to you as the business they dealt with.

5. Who we share data with

Only with service providers who help us operate: hosting and database infrastructure, file storage for photos and avatars, email delivery, payment and financing providers, error monitoring, and the AI provider that powers Buddy AI. Each is bound to use the data only to provide their service to us.

We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public. If the business changes hands, data may transfer as part of that, and we'll tell you first.

6. AI features

When you use Buddy AI, the content of your prompt and any photo you attach is sent to our AI provider to generate a response. Avoid pasting sensitive personal information you don't need in a prompt. We do not use your job content to train public models.

7. How long we keep it

Account and job data is kept while your account is active. Financial records tied to invoices and fees may be retained longer where tax or anti-fraud law requires. When you close your account we delete or anonymise what we are not required to keep.

8. Security

Access to your data is restricted to your account and the crew you invite, enforced at the database level. Data is encrypted in transit, uploaded files are stored in a private bucket served through time-limited links, and passwords are hashed by our authentication provider — we never see them. No system is perfectly secure, so use a strong, unique password and tell us if something looks wrong.

9. Your choices and rights

You can view and edit your profile in the app, replace or remove your avatar, and request a copy or deletion of your account data. Depending on where you live you may also have rights to correct data, object to certain processing, or complain to a data protection regulator. Email us and we'll action it.

10. Cookies

We use cookies and similar local storage to keep you signed in and to keep the app working. We do not use them for advertising or cross-site tracking.

11. Children

Job Buddiez is for people working in the trades and is not intended for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from children.

12. Changes and contact

If we change this policy we'll update the date above and flag significant changes in the app or by email. Questions or requests: hello@jobbuddies.app or the contact page.
